Our story

We never diversified. That was the point.

KCK Infra Projects was founded in 2009 by Sri K. Subba Rami Reddy, working out of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. The firm started where most railway contractors start — small civil packages, taken as a sub-contractor, on sections of the South Central network.

What followed was not expansion into new sectors. It was going deeper into one. Subways under running track, then bridges over rivers, then whole stations. Every year the packages got larger and the engineering got harder, but the work stayed the same kind of work.

The line has to be handed back on time. Everything else in this business follows from that.

Today the group operates through four entities — a proprietorship, a partnership firm and two joint ventures — matched to the scale of each package, and has delivered for South Central, Southern and South Western Railway.

Work in hand

By 2017 there were eight packages running at once.

Every bar below is a real contract, plotted from its award date to its completion. The overlap is the story — bridges in Tamil Nadu, a road over bridge in Andhra Pradesh and nineteen subways across six sections, all live in the same season.

Building the record

Five years of smaller civil packages taken as a sub-contractor, establishing the working relationships and site record that later tenders would depend on. The company profile does not list these individually.

Three subways under the Bangalore–Dharmavaram line

Work commences in February on subways in lieu of level crossings 103, 72 and 69 for South Western Railway. At Nagasamudram a 5.0 × 4.5 m RCC box is built across three tracks by cut-and-cover; at Chakarlapalli and Pandiparthi the boxes are cast beside the formation and rolled into position under live traffic.

Into major bridges and road over bridges

The step change. Two major bridge packages on the Thiruvarur–Pattukkottai gauge conversion are accepted in June, replacing steel girder spans with 18.70 m PSC ‘U’ girders. August brings the two-lane road over bridge at Regadipalli–Vanganur, and October and November two further road under bridge packages for Guntakal Division.

Nineteen road under bridges, handed over

The biggest delivery in the group’s history. In November the nineteen-RUB package completes — nineteen separate structures across six sections, run as parallel work fronts with coordinated traffic blocks at every site. In December, bridges 233 and 251 over the Pandavayar and Vellaiyar rivers are handed over.

Leadership

Sri K. Subba Rami Reddy

Founder & Proprietor

The firm has had one head since it started. Every package in the record — the first subways at Nagasamudram, the nineteen-RUB contract, the station buildings at Thiruthuraipoondi — was taken and delivered under the same signature.

That continuity is what a railway client is buying. Traffic blocks are granted on trust, and trust in this business is built slowly, by handing the line back when you said you would.

Kadapa, Andhra PradeshFounder since 20094 entities

What holds it together

Three things we do not compromise.

The block is sacred

A traffic block is a few hours, granted once. Everything that can be done off the track is finished before it starts, so the line goes back when it was promised.

Certificates, not claims

Every package in our record carries a work completion certificate issued by the Railway. The documents are available to any client who asks for them.

One line of work

We have never moved into sectors we do not know. Seventeen years of railway civil work is the only thing on our record, and it is the only thing we bid for.
